Manidad or Crocodile Island which got its name due to its appearance that resembles a floating crocodile. Its a rock formation that disappears during high tide. Fronting this Island is another beautiful island called “Palaui”.

I have so much fear about the sudden change going on in sta ana cagayan,due to the influck of all those rich foreign bussiness man opening casino left and right in that little town.I find this an embarassment to the philippine government wanting to have these casinos built in this little town.
I just wonder if they are actually concern about anything else,except what they can put in their own bank account, in the long run.
Why can”t they encourage tourism with out those prostitution and drugs brought in by those rich bussiness man who run those casino.
The town is too small that my fear of having the town of sta ana be occupied by taiwanese and vietnamese people,ETC.all those poor people in sta ana will be displace to those small neighboring barrios and town.
Soon that town will be own by those rich investors, just by taking over those very little pieces of land owned by the people of sta ana,”buying them out” will be their term to displace these poor people.
Its time for those leaders in Sta Ana to wake up.and truely open their eyes what kind of investors we really want in sta Ana.
the sudden influx of foreigners, both local and international, in my hometown sta. ana has made me feel ‘foreign’ in the place where i grew up. coming home to my small quiet town has never been the same. gone were the days when we use to just walk on the street nodding each other’s head to every one we come upon along our way. but for now, i hardly know anybody. why, with all the Chinese gamblers who made our market goods more expensive than before. we can never buy the fresh fish for the the same price that we use to, nor can we have a taste of exotic shell fish (they are literally reserved for the Chinese, DAMN!!!)
Ex vice mayor Constante Sapla of the Municipality of Sta. Ana said in his Christamas message during the eve of December 24, 2007 at St. Anthony’s Parish Church, that we, the people of Sta Ana, should accept the change that is coming in our town. WHAT CHANGE! The rape of our shores, the influx of casinos where dirty chinese spit and spat left and right where ever they go? the casino’s look good outside but that’s just a facade! Its the new avenue for the trade of flesh and drugs!!! the the good old vice mayor sapla want’s us to accept that change! Talk about lousy politicians whose only aim is to satisfy their lust for power. CAN WE JUST ACCEPT THE FACT THAT WE ARE BEING DRIVEN OUT FROM OUR OWN LAND, OUR BIRTH PLACE, AND THE BURIAL PLACE OF OUR ANCESTORS?!
is it not that before the election, you party mr sapla was campaining against these casino’s. why the change of heart? or was it the change of rate of SOP (lagay…hehehe)oh i do hope u get to read this.
subject ng thesis namin ang palaui island ng sta. ana. nakakalungkot isipin na kasabay ng pagsulpot ng mga casino dito ay ang tourism development plans ng ceza na mukhang magmumukhang boracay ang lugar. i fear for palaui island. my groupmates and i have come to love the island. sana naman ang thesis namin ay makatulong sa pagprotect nito.

it is just good and a relief to see that there are community members of Sta.Ana who are aware of what is happening to the used to be very humble municipality. I am not being defensive here, but let me tell you that we should not be against any development if ever there is, but at least we should be and must be responsible enough to protect what we can protect. too much of anything is bad so the cliche goes. I too is a victim of the so called POWERPLAY in Sta.Ana. Mayor VIC became the mayor of the municipality in 1998, and from day one he already made out of his way to question some of the provisions of CEZA. It is a common knowledge among the people there that he has been fighting for the locals and the rest.Did we ever get anything from all the casinos there now…God only knows. We can still walk with heads up because we have remained modest in our way of living. We may have flaws but we have tried our very best to serve with clean hearts. For the speech of Ex VM Sapla…kulang yata ung narinig mo. anyway we welcome every criticism thrown to us.But i beg to disagree that lahat ng nakaupo nakikinabang. for our case it is not true. how i truly wish makinabang kami with all the people that are coming to us everyday asking for help, with all the solicitations that we are receiving, thats what we call our social obligation…sana nga makinabang kami so our social obligation will no longer come from our own pockets. The mayor and myself belong to big families, dati na kaming meron, modesty aside.we dont need to grab nor be hungry of money. iisa tayo..laban tayo para sa Sta.Ana…abusado hindi ang CEZA kundi ang ibang tao sa loob ng CEZA…. I am waiting for all of you to visit us one day…. it will be our pleasure to talk to you about everything and anything about Sta.Ana and the Casinos… I agree with you, if there are casinos, there must also be drugs and prostitution. tama rin naging bulag pipi at bingi ang mga taga simbahan na siyang inaasahan namin na tutulong sa amin ni Mayor Vic. Pero parang wala na kaming maasahan ngayon. But believe us we never cease on trying.Alam ng lahat ng taga Sta.Ana yan.Let me tell you about this story from Brgy. Casagan, Mayor Vic asked him why did he sell his property in Diora Zinungan with just a very small amount..he answered us, bec. he needed money. Thats fine with us. But after, he said, Mayor, it is my PRIVATE PROPERTY i have all the right to do what i want to do… Now tell us,is it still our faults o pagkukulang kung ganyan ang prinsipyo???hindi lang iisa yan marami yan. But still we never get tired helping,orienting the people who wants to cooperate and wants to be helped.
i accidentaly browes this page, and im very much surprised on what i have read, i am not really aware of the things that are happening in my town, i seldom went home but through this, i have come to understand simple things, i wanted to disagree to those people who tried to put the burden or the blame rather to the politicians, because as far as i know, though they belong to the political bodies, they have limited jurisdiction in disposing their power, what im trying to say here is that, it doesn’t mean they can control everything, another point, instead of criticizing them why don’t we used our transcendental mind in helping them, if you think you have a great idea on how make things right why dont you give a bet on sharing what’s in your mind, our problem sometimes, mga ate at kuya… if it doesn’t favors us, we tried to disobey or disagree, right? don’t just think the negative side, everything must be in transparency and accountability, and mind you… i think you tend to misjudge people, because what you know/think is right.. we all know that there are really developments in our town, dont be like that nman poh… im here at the SENATE OF THE PHILIPPINES, having my OJT, and you know what, im very proud that i came from CAGAYAN, specificaly in STa. ANA and im promoting our dear town, im telling to the different people here that STA. ANA is really a great place and people there were so accomodating and kind! and they are convinced because i tried to show them pictures on some of our spots! i just have this fear that they can read this page and get to create some misconception about our place, and that’s absurd!

i love cagayan valley coz is my own province, and my one and only town gonzaga,….also sta.ana,…sta.ana is becoming progress town of cagayan valley coz of the foreign who discovered the beautifull paradise of sta. that pilipinos…cant see long time ago b4 this foreigns did discover,….it verry sad to know that this is our own place,…our mother place were we grow and started life….and now it is now becoming to be owned by foreigns,….lets just see what gonna be happened if it will help sta.ana to be the more progress town or not,….if yes,….thats verry nice then gonzaga can join too
