The same goes for vegetables. Basically, more color means that it is better and healthier for you.
2. Eat Foods from All Food Groups - The problem with many diets these days is the fact that they tell you to cut certain foods from certain food groups, out of the diet altogether. This means that you lose important nutrition and don’t eat as healthy as you could be. So, the answer to a healthy diet is to eat a variety of different foods.
Developing healthy eating habits isn’t as confusing or as restrictive as many people imagine. The first principle of a healthy diet is simply to eat a wide variety of foods. This is important because different foods make different nutritional contributions.
3. When You Need to Eat Snack, Do It on Healthy Foods – It doesn’t mean that just because you want to lose weight, you’ll have to skip your snack. In fact, snacking can actually be quite good for you just as long as you are eating the right foods.
Generally, when we want to eat snack, we reach for a biscuit or a packet of crisps. However, if you want to eat a healthy snack, then you will have to swap those for nuts, seeds or fruit and vegetables. That way you will get energy, you will also be full until your next meal time and it will be completely healthy.

Another great tip is to try and eat during specified meal times only. You can get carried away snacking away all day at your desk or wherever. Just try and limit your feeding to during meal times only or specified snacking times (5-10 minute window).

I was just grocery shopping a few minutes ago and I find that I always look for fruits and veggies that we have not eaten in a while. I always like to change things up so that I can vary my diet.
We have lots of carrots and fruit oin the fridge for the kids to snack on in the evening but wouldn’t you guess it our son likes to eat pretzels instead.
